No! RescueMesh uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct to create a mesh network. It works completely offline by passing SOS alerts and messages through nearby users’ devices.

The mesh network works best when other users are nearby, as it uses their devices to pass alerts. While you can trigger an SOS solo, signal strength depends on node density, so skiing with others enhances your coverage.

No — RescueMesh is optimized for cold weather and long usage. It runs lightweight processes in the background and activates SOS only when necessary.

You can manually trigger an SOS alert in the app. In Version 2, auto-SOS will detect falls or inactivity and trigger an alert automatically. Alerts are passed through the mesh to others nearby or directly to ski patrol teams using the Rescue Dashboard.

RescueMesh does not guarantee rescue, but it significantly increases the chances by notifying nearby users and patrols instantly. It’s a powerful aid — not a substitute for human judgment or backup planning.

No. RescueMesh only accesses your GPS location when:

• You manually trigger an SOS
• You opt-in to live tracking (optional)
• Auto-SOS is activated (coming in V2)

Your data is not shared with third parties and is stored securely.
